Tree Planting Season for the Spring 2017 has concluded
The Tree Warden thanks everyone who participated and had a tree or more planted in front of their homes during the spring tree planting season.
A thank you letter will be issued for every resident on the list who received a tree this season. The letter will contain very crucial information with details on how to take care of your new tree in the first year of life. The letter will also offer information on how to make a suggested donation to the Tree Fund so that Watertown is able to keep this successful program running into the future.
The next tree planting season is expected to be in the Fall of 2017. The list of species available for the Fall 2017 tree planting season will be posted below this spot when the list becomes available.
If you had requested a tree in the spring but did not receive one at that time, your name and location will be moved onto the list of recipients for the Fall of 2017.
If you would like a tree to be planted, please watch for the list of species coming in the fall. We will also send out a notice to all subscribers of the "Tree Warden Notify Me",
so sign up for notify me if you are interested in getting in on that.
Once you have seen the species list, please email your top three choices to the Tree Warden who will come out to your site to see if there is a suitable planting location and let you know whether a tree can or cannot be planted. Keep in mind, if you are interested, that trees can also be planted on private property within 20 feet of the public right of way.
The spring tree planting available species list is available by clicking the link below. This list will give you an idea of what might be offered in the fall. This list will be updated with the Available Species List-Fall 2017, when the list is ready, sometime late in the summer.
