On the Watertown Seal is a picture of an English Colonist and an Indian exchanging, as peace tokens,  bread for fish.  Captain Roger Clap landed at Nantasket Point in 1630 and rode up Charles River to Gerry's Landing with the first party of Watertown Colonists.

Watertown 2018 Arbor Day Event AT THE COMMANDER’S MANSION THURSDAY, APRIL 26TH FROM 11AM-2PM The event is free and open to the public. The Commander’s Mansion is located at 440 Talcott Ave in Watertown (off Arsenal Street). This will be a fun day of learning about nature and the environment and there will be plenty of activities for children and adults. Free snacks and drinks will be handed out. There will be giveaways and you can enter to win raffles. Children will enjoy story time and hands-on activities. Meet with representatives from local environmental groups and learn about some of their programs, initiatives, and what they have to offer.
